I forgot to give you my Throwback of the day yesterday, so I am going to share it with you today. This week I have been in my usual mood for music: spiritual, uplifting, R&B, and acoustic/neo-soul. Some of my favorite artist that represent these genres of music would be: Jill Scott, Floetry, Donell Jones, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Sade, Carl Thomas, etc. These are just a few of the artist that participated in this weeks play-list but the artist that received the most plays was Lauryn Hill and I am still jamming to her as of today. No matter how old her play-list may get in years, she will always be fresh on myTUNES list. Although this song I am sharing is song and written by her former group the Fugees, it’s still all about Lauryn for me. Ready or Not, here I come… (literally)
I am not the biggest fan of nail art but I do dabble in it here and there when I’m feeling a bit adventerous. Because of the field I work in, this may be a bit too dramatic and will have the tendacy of becoming costly. Art like this requires a lot of maintenaince that would take a portion of my time I really don’t care to give up BUT I am definitely digging a couple of these shown above. I don’t mind adding a couple of these designs (one at a time, of course), when I get my next pedi(cure). Can you guess which ones?

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. (Proverbs 31:30 NLT) Every day I make it a priority to read at least a chapter a day out of the book of Proverbs. For the past 2 months I have been consistent with this attempt and have yet to slack. What I love about this particular scripture is how and when I recieved it. It being only the 25th day of the month kind of puts me ahead of my reading. It is kind of weird that it only registered to me when a friend posted it as her updated status, other than during my daily reading. Two times, in the past 2 months I have meditated on that particular chapter and God chose today to speak to me in the midst of my doubt. How amazing is He for that? Extremely amazing!!
I just love a little naughty with a little nice… This here is a perfect example of how a bit of bad can make good look great. As long as the good outweigh the bad, i am all for it. I think I might turn this into a SIY (smOOch it YOURself) project, so check back for the update.
I’ve been trying to create an image that I can put on a t-shirt. I figured, why not an image of myself verses someone else. A bit concieted you may think but who cares. Like I said before, I rather me than the next person. I chose one of my favorite pictures I ever taken & I think I am going to go with the image on the far right. The more details I put on it, the less interesting it becomes.
“I would rather not live, like there isn’t a God, than die & find out there really is.” I came across this quote spoken by a young man named Kendrick Lamar. I’m not sure who he is or what he does but I agree with his quote. THINK ABOUT IT, if you died tonight & the life you’ve been living did not line up with what the Bible says, where else would you go if its not to heaven? Once you gain that understanding then you will say what I feel, “I would rather not live, like there isn’t a God, than die & find out there really is but I would rather live knowing God than live life religiously.” - Cierra Battle
My threads from today. you like?
I just love my lips in this picture. I must wear pink lipstick more often.
A Letter to BC
- Me (smOOch): Dear Boston Celtics, I can honestly say you played a good game tonight but we could have had better. Good is never good when better is always sitting above. Lets not play the same game in the next two games.
- Thanks too much.
- Yours truly & your Biggest fan. Cierra B.
- p.s. I get this knot in my tummy everytime the kobe lakers score but it always feel like a punch when they score after we lose. I know that was slightly exaggerated but you get my point. It's a great thing I depend on God & not you.

Ladies, it’s OK to mix prints, only if you know how to keep it balance. Example? This peach chiffon top goes perfectly with the leopard pointed pumps. This brings out the spots in the heels perfectly, making the top half balance with the bottom. I like to refer to this as the K.I.S.S. portion of a smOOchkiss look. (Keep It Simple, Sort-of) By adding another print with your pants gives a bit of smooch to the kiss. To be smOOch is everything STYLE-ish, just pick a word:
classy, snazzy, dashing, dapper, modernistic, extravagant, On-trend, ostentatious, chic, vintage, voguish, up-town, high-class, haute!! (& it does not stop there) If this may be too much out of your box, simply cuff your pants to show off a little more skin, to seperate the prints. Still too much, add the print in your accessories &/or handbag & change the pumps or jeans to something solid. More examples of these looks are shown below.
Wearing sweaters only in a winter is BOoooRRRing!! Why buy clothes you can only wear 4 to 5 months out of the year? You know you won’t wear it too many times anyways. So, next time you go shopping ask yourself, “Can I wear this ALL YEAR long?” Example? This teal colored sweater can be worn during any season just by adding and removing pieces. Like shown above, add a thin tank underneath and allow the sweater to hang off of your shoulder. Push up your sleeves & add a spring inspired shoe & you are perfect for the Summer. Add a complementing colored collar shirt (button down or polo) & cuff over the sweater with a darker shoe & you’ll be warm enough for the winter. DO NOT forget to ACCESSORIZE & you will be smOOchkiss approved all year long!!
These are the last looks for the day. I hope you ENJOY!
Inspiring.
Listen to my play-list and you will get music of all genres. I love random types of music and enjoy it most when it comes off a bit unusual to the common ear. Because I am very cautious to what I listen to, I always make it a priority in defining the songs meaning. In this song I am about to share with you is a tale of two estranged lovers in the midst of their journey of reconnecting. You know those feelings you get when you are about to reunite with a very special someone from your past? They can be a bit dramatic, in reminisce of a roller coaster.
In honor of it being Thursday and my love for almost everything Throwback, I want to began sharing some of my favorite throwback artists and songs with you. Today I want to start with Madame Butterfly by the late Malcolm Mclaren, who was initially known for his out-of the-box design techniques and London based boutique Let It Rock, with ex-girlfriend Vivienne Westwood. The first time I heard one of his songs was during the 2010 Baby Phat runway show, when they played Something’s Jumping in My Shirt. By the title alone, I was hooked. By the beat of the song I was mesmerized and I wanted to know more. SO, I did. From there I became more familiar with his work as an impresario and performer and I never stop listening since. I hope you Enjoy.
